A compatibility-first dating application designed from zero — no existing product, no prior design system, no reference screens. Built for emotionally intelligent adults who are serious about relationships, HeartLynk shifts the primary decision signal from photos and proximity to psychological compatibility, shared values, and relationship intent.
I owned the entire design process as a solo contributor — from reading the product documents and identifying 20 design risks before touching Figma, to delivering 62 high-fidelity screens, a complete design system, UX copy across the entire product, and a developer handover document ready for production build.
The central design challenge was earning deep user investment before delivering value — a 24-question questionnaire, mandatory video verification, and a structured onboarding sequence that no mainstream dating app asks of its users. Every design decision was made in service of resolving that tension: sequencing value before effort, making verification feel like a bridge rather than a wall, and introducing a compatibility scoring system that users had never seen before in a way that felt earned rather than arbitrary.
